Wyman (University of California &#8211; USA) to hold a conference on bioeconomy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\">All<\/span> <span class=\"\">members of the<\/span> i<span class=\"\">nternational<\/span> <span class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev11.hbst.fr\/www.toulouse-white-biotechnology.com\/en\/toulouse-white-biotechnology-2\/governance\/\">Scientific Advisory Board<\/a> and<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/dev11.hbst.fr\/www.toulouse-white-biotechnology.com\/en\/partners\/consortium\/\">Strategic Steering Committee<\/a> <span class=\"\">had met<\/span> <span class=\"\">Wednesday 5 October at<\/span> Toulouse <span class=\"\">to listen and<\/span> <span class=\"\">question these<\/span> <span class=\"\">two internationally renowned<\/span> experts.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toulouse-white-biotechnology.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/10\/img_2965-1-scaled.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5760\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-5760\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toulouse-white-biotechnology.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/10\/img_2965-300x225-2.jpg\" alt=\"img_2965\" width=\"215\" height=\"161\"><\/a>Jim<\/span> <span class=\"\">Philp<\/span> <span class=\"\">(PhD<\/span>) held <span class=\"\">a conference on the<\/span> bioeconomy role to face e<span class=\"\">conomic and political challenges<\/span> <span class=\"\">such as climate<\/span> change. For bioeconomy policy makers, the future is complex and multi-faceted.<\/span>\r\n<span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\">Jim Philp (PhD) is a microbiologist who has worked as a Policy Analyst since 2011 at the OECD, specialising in industrial biotechnology.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toulouse-white-biotechnology.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/10\/img_2967-1-scaled.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5761\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-5761\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toulouse-white-biotechnology.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/10\/img_2967-300x225-2.jpg\" alt=\"img_2967\" width=\"215\" height=\"161\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Charles E. Wyman,\u00a0Distinguished Professor in the University of California (UCR) Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department and\u00a0<span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\">Head of<\/span> <span class=\"\">Ford Motor Company Chair in Environmental Engineering<\/span><span class=\"\">, discussed<\/span> the\u00a0<span class=\"\">use<\/span> <span class=\"\">of lignocellulosic biomass<\/span> for the production <span class=\"\">of biofuels and<\/span> <span class=\"\">chemicals.<\/span> <span class=\"\">His research team<\/span> has developed a new pretreatment <span class=\"\">of lignocellulosic<\/span> <span class=\"\">source to<\/span> <span class=\"\">achieve better<\/span> final yields.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the occasion of the meeting of the Scientific Advisory Board of TWB and its Strategic Steering Committee, TWB invited Drs Jim Philp (OECD &#8211; Paris, France) and Charles E.
