The 5th edition of TWB® START-UP DAY will be held on 21 June 2022 at Vanel spaces in Toulouse (France) – only face-to-face. The 2022 focus will be on “Microorganisms: the next frontier”. This event, organised by TWB, is dedicated to the industrial biotechnology community and beyond; it puts in contact start-uppers and entrepreneurs with investors, SMEs and large corporation who have an interest in the field. The previous editions brought together 200 attendees from more than 10 countries with 40+ start-up companies.

The programme will consist in keynotes, thematic sessions and BtoB meetings to build partnerships between the key players and experts from the biotech start-up business ecosytem.

The 2022 edition hosts two pitch contests, one “Fast track it!” dedicated to start-ups who are developing their technologies and another one “Go for it!” dedicated to entrepreneurs who are at the final stage of the ideation.

Winners of the pitch contests will be awarded:

  • “Fast track it!”: technical services on TWB platforms valued at €50,000 as well as participation opportunities with Bioeconomy For Change & Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation.
  • “Go for it!”: mentoring services, equivalent to four days, provided by TWB and its ecosystem as well as Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation, The French Tech Toulouse and ShakeUpFactory.

Biotech start-up contests

  • “Fast track it!” is a unique award to accelerate the development of a start-up and have the chance to win €50,000 of services on TWB platforms as well as participation opportunities with Bioeconomy For Change & Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation.

If you are a European industrial biotech start-up of 8 years old or less, with a TRL less than or equal to 6, answer the questionnaire and send your Executive Summary before midnight CET 27 May, 2022.
If you are selected, you will pitch during 5 minutes and will answer questions right after on 21 June 2022.

  • “Go for it!” is an award to support the creation of a start-up and have the chance to win mentoring service, equivalent to four days, provided by TWB and its ecosystem as well as Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation, The French Tech Toulouse and ShakeUpFactory.

If you are a European industrial biotech entrepreneur having a start-up in progress or project of creation with a TRL less than or equal to 3, answer the questionnaire before midnight CET 27 May, 2022.
If you are selected, you will pitch during 5 minutes and will answer questions right after on 21 June 2022.
