Médaille d’or pour l’équipe iGEM Toulouse

Pour la troisième année consécutive, l’équipe iGEM 2015 Toulouse, composée d’étudiants de l’INSA Toulouse et de l’université Paul-Sabatier, a remporté une médaille d’or au concours international de biologie synthétique du MIT (International Genetically Engineered Machine). Le projet visait le développement d’un moyen de lutte contre le varroa, première cause de mortalité parasitaire chez les abeilles en Europe et aux USA, en utilisant une voie biologique plus avantageuse et écologique que les produits chimiques utilisés jusqu’alors. Le projet nommé « ApiColi » était soutenu par TWB et par des partenaires de son consortium.

The iGEM Toulouse team awarded a gold medal

For the third consecutive year, the iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) Toulouse team 2015, composed of students from INSA Toulouse and the University Paul Sabatier, has been awarded a gold medal at the international competition in synthetic biology organised by the MIT. The aim of the project is the development of a means of controlling Varroa, the first cause of parasite-induced mortality among honeybees in Europe and in the US, by using a biological pathway that is more advantageous and ecological than chemical products used so far. TWB and its consortium partners support the project named « ApiColi ».
