Tunisia White Biotechnology?

Pierre Monsan and Michel Manach attended the Scientific Committee of the Center of Biotechnology of Sfax (CBS) – Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, 2016 -, invited by its Director, Professor Mr. Sami Sayadi, in the presence of Mr. Khalil Amiri, Secretary of State for Scientific Research (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research).

The managers of the CBS different research laboratories attended the meeting. Potential collaboration projects were identified.

This invitation follows an initial contact in May 2016, via the Embassy of France in Tunisia.
A Tunisian delegation led by Mr. Abdellatif Boudabous, President of the National Assessment of Scientific Research Activities Committee (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research), came to better know TWB activities and study opportunities for collaboration.

Tunisia has several biotechnology centers (Sfax, Hammam-Lif, Sidi Thabet) that could promote their research with a similar structure to TWB.

A collaborative project is being prepared as part of the European program Horizon 2020.
