“Synthetic Biology: from ideas to market” – Dec. 6, 2016

TWB, with IAR, is a partner of the international symposium “Synthetic Biology: from ideas to market”, organized by Genopole, December 6, 2016, in Paris (France).

As a major scientific advance of the past decade, synthetic biology offers a wide range of industrial applications and new production techniques. Synthetic biology was ranked second among the “top 10 emerging technologies” by the Davos World Economic Forum in 2012.

Stemming from the convergence of genetics, mathematics, IT and engineering, synthetic biology has come of age today with examples of applications in most industrial areas: energy, chemistry, the environment, the agro-food industry, biomaterials and, of course, health.

Genopole, biocluster and founder of the first laboratory of synthetic biology (iSSB – Institute of Systems & Synthetic Biology), in partnership with TWB (Toulouse White Biotechnology) the pre-industrial demonstrator in the field of industrial biotechnology, along with the IAR (Industry and Agro-Resources) competitiveness cluster dedicated to the bio-economy, organizes a symposium dedicated to current and future industrial applications of synthetic biology, built around two sessions that will present the path from research to industry.
