A success! The 3rd edition of « TWB® START-UP DAY, Bioproduction for Sustainability » brought together, on February 6, 2020, nearly 200 professionals from 8 countries: fifty start-upers (Biotecal, PILI, Kapsera, e-zyvec, DAB…), biotech innovation and promotion structures, industrialists (Adisseo, BASF, Lallemand, Kering, Biotalys, L’Oréal, …) and investors (Novo Holdings, Capricorn Venture Partners, …).

The event benefited from the promotion of partners from French Tech Toulouse, the IAR cluster, the Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation cluster and Hello Tomorrow. It was greatly supported by Toulouse Métropole and the Région Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée and sponsored by Toulouse Business School, ARD, Carbios, Plasseraud, ResiCare by Michelin, Sofinnova Partners and Syngulon.

18 international speakers responded to this year’s theme: « Bioproduction for Sustainability ». These presentations, conferences or round-table, help to develop synergies between start-ups working for an eco-responsible industry, to investors looking for new operations and industrial groups looking for innovative solutions in the field of biotechnology.

Three BtoB networking sessions were proposed between the presentations : an opportunity to network and meet future partners.

During the third edition of the “TWB Award 2020 : Pitch me your biotech start-up! “, 5 start-upers  in the field of biotechnologies presented their project in front of a jury of experts.

Three key messages to remember from the day: confronting our ideas with the real world, finding the balance to achieve environmental, societal and economic sustainability, developing local solutions to local issues to meet societal challenges.
