TWB: 2 new startups hosted

TWB announces the arrival of two new startups, iMEAN and Green Spot Technologies. Both fledgling firms will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, high-level expertise and an extensive network of academic and industrial biotechnology specialists.

TWB supports startups by hosting them and providing workspace and a range of services. Start-up companies hosted by TWB enjoy a significant boost to their growth, especially in the initial stages. So, after EnobraQ, Pili, MicroPep Technologies and Biotech Fine Chemical France, now iMEAN and Green Spot Technologies have also made the move and teamed up with TWB.

iMEAN analyses in silico, or computer-simulated, models of living organisms for biotech companies and academic research. iMEAN’s services include biological process optimisation, synthetic biology design applications for industrial microbiology, virtual plant breeding for agronomic purposes and a turnkey package combining systems biology and artificial intelligence (AI). Its added value lies in delivering patentable IP solutions.

Green Spot Technologies specialises in maximising the conversion of fruit and vegetable by-products into high valued-added produce. It uses low-cost substrates and the fermentation technology to produce alternative, functional and naturally-healthy food products. The resulting processed products include high-protein, high-fibre, low-calorie, gluten-free flours, loaded with vitamins, minerals and natural antioxidants. Green Spot Technologies was originally based in New Zealand but Toulouse Metropole’s promotion and enterprise agency assisted the start-up company to move to the city.
